Hubby and I took a nice little day trip to Bogue Chitto State Park. We needed a nature day and to get away from the Holiday Stress. Here are just a few pictures:
I would trade you our snow and Friday's potential rain/ice storm for a beautiful walk in the park with changing leaves and mild Lousiana weather. Should we talk?
What a beautiful area. Looks like a great place to get out and relax. This reminds me that we need to head out and have a day to relax in the woods or by the river and maybe do a little fishing.
What a wonderful idea! Sounds like a great way to destress and just escape the holiday bustle. I love that you and your husband went together. The photos are great!
We used to have a year pass for our state parks when the kids were little! Alas, it seems I don't really go to them as much anymore. LOL Well, I DO live in the same woods as the parks are, so I have the same "things" I guess! We used to go to parks near us with lakes since that is the one thing we don't have! Or other features we don't have like cliffs and things for the kids to climb.
How pretty is that park Bogue Chitto State Park, in Louisiana, looks like you had nice and relaxing day, I like that they have the wooden walkways and the variety you showed in your pictures. Thank you for sharing.
I did a name search for Bogue Chitto and in Choctaw it means big creek. It also is used to refer to clear, swift flowing rivers. We have creeks, but am glad to say they are not swift flowing rivers. Our creeks usually are located behind someone's property.
I love the two side-by-side pictures of the purple flowers and the red berries. I'm glad the birds saved the berries so we could have a glimpse of their beautiful color.
If you are still having mild weather, this would be a perfect place for "Northerners" to travel to, especially this winter. It's cold & the weatherman on our local station just warned us that it's going to get colder!
nothing more beautiful than nature, we experienced an ice storm up here in Toronto this week and as nasty as mother nature is we could still appreciate the beauty of the snow and ice on all the trees and bushes. Thanks for sharing!
The pictures are beautiful. Looks like a peaceful day.
