ReplyDeleteMy daughter and her family are arriving tonight. Then my husband and I, are son and his wife & my daughter & family are getting together with my niece and her family on Saturday. We are praying for no snow so we can make the two hour drive uneventfully. It is always nice to get together with family.
ReplyDeleteSo far I have decorated the house and bought the gifts. In the past, I used to host an annual gag gift party that was an absolute blast. Then I got married and had kids so we have taken a few years off. I'd love to do it again though. They were so much fun!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been eating way too much. Between Holiday Celebrations and a quick bite out while shopping, the pounds have started adding up. It's back to Weight Watchers after New Years!
ReplyDeleteWe had 3 Thanksgiving dinners. On Thanksgiving, we went over to my fiance's cousin's house for the 1st dinner. A couple hours later, we went to my son's grandmother's house for the 2nd dinner. On Saturday, my fiance made our own Thanksgiving dinner with a 23 lb. turkey for the 3 of us. We had a lot of turkey sandwiches for the next few days.

We always have our big "ThanksChristmas" family day in the middle of December now, since one of our daughters lives out of state and they come in then. So we all get together and do two at once. hahaha. I have come to like this! So I only have ONE time to cook and cook and cook for our crowd which is up to 25 of us now! Whew. Right now, besides perusing blogs, I'm looking for a recipe to use up my leftovers! yum turkey pies....

ReplyDeleteI have been trying to get into the holiday spirit this year, with baking, Christmas movies, Christmas music, etc. It has been a tough year this year.
ReplyDeleteSo far I have got my christmas shopping done and every year i do a top to bottom scrub of my home and clear out anything we no longer need, a nice way to start the new year all clean and organized
ReplyDeleteI have actually gotten all my presents and they are all wrapped and now I am ready for Christmas, menu is planned, ham to be picked up and all I have left to do is cook and clean up the mess. LOL, but it will be fun all y family are going to be together.

ReplyDeleteI had a wonderfully long holiday break from work so I took advantage and repainted the bathroom. Every room in my house is now that "right" color instead of the strange colors the previous owner had made them.
ReplyDeleteWe went to a few of the theme parks: Sea World, Busch Gardens, Universal, and Epcot (all on different days of course!). I love the theme parks during the holidays!
