Marion's Vintage Bakery Etsy Store
Review and Giveaway

As everyone knows, I love Etsy. Etsy is my shopping mall at home. I could spend hours looking through all of the artistic products and dream. I am not an artistic person and I have so much respect for those that are.

I came across Marion's Vintage Bakery one day while looking at homemade cookies. What I found in Marion's store is edible art. Everything is so beautiful and elegant.

Marion offered to send me a set of her beautiful peach shaped cookies.
When I received them I was like a kid at Christmas.

When I opened the box, this cute decorated package awaited me.
Inside was the most beautiful peach cookies. They were almost too pretty to eat.

They were as delicious as they were beautiful. These light and airy little cookies would be perfect for any party.
She will have lots of Fall goodies very soon. I can't wait!

Take a look as some of the other edibles by Marion's Vintage Bakery Etsy Store:

Fun Facts Friday

I adopted two cats this week from Petsmart. They are adorable. Since my world is wrapped around my new babies this week, I thought Fun Facts Friday should be about cats. Enjoy!

1. Female cats tend to be right pawed, while male cats are more often left pawed.
Interestingly, while 90% of humans are right handed, the remaining 10% of lefties also tend to be male.

2. During the time of the Spanish Inquisition, Pope Innocent VIII condemned cats as evil
and thousands of cats were burned. Unfortunately, the widespread killing of cats led to an
explosion of the rat population, which helped the spread of the Black Death.

3. While many parts of Europe and North America consider the black cat a sign of bad luck,
in Britain and Australia, black cats are considered lucky.

4. A cat almost never meows at another cat, mostly just humans.
Cats typically will spit, purr, and hiss at other cats.

5. The first cartoon cat was Felix the Cat in 1919.

6. Cats can drink sea water to re-hydrate themselves.

7. Sir Isaac Newton, discoverer of the principles of gravity, also invented the cat door.

8. 25% of cat owners admit to blow drying their cat's hair after a bath.

9. Cats purrs exploit our nurturing instinct by incorporating the same frequency as a baby’s cry.

dimmi Adventure Shoes Review and Giveaway
Every woman loves a pair of great walking shoes. We need comfort and we love style. I have to admit that I love shoes. I'm not one of those women that wears big heels. Years ago I had ankle reconstruction. That ended my high heel days. Now I look for comfort but I refuse to give up being stylish and fun.
I was searching the internet and came across these adorable shoes, dimmi Adventures. They come in 12 different colors and patterns. It was so hard choosing which ones were my favorites. When I contacted the wonderful people at Consolidated Shoe Company, I was surprised to find out about the dimmi line of shoes. 100% of dimmi's profits go to medical research. So not only do you get these amazingly comfortable walking shoes, but you can feel good about supporting a great cause.
I wore my dimmi Adventures on a long day of shopping with my Mom. These cute little shoes were just perfect, with enough cushion on the inside for lots of walking and soft straps that cradled my feet. I love the style and paired them with a soft red top and capris. My daughter went to lunch with us and adored my dimmi Adventurers.
dimmi has more than just the Adventurers. These are just a few of the other styles-

The entire line of dimmi can be found at
Must Have Shoes

Heres a little bit more about dimmi from there blog:

The Story of dimmi
dimmi  is a new footwear brand that makes a line of comfort shoes.  It was born from a personal tragedy.  Consolidated Shoe Company (CSC) has been a family-owned business for four generations.  Its last president, Richard A. Carrington IV, was diagnosed with ALS and passed away at the age of 39.  The impact of the disease to the family and circle of friends and colleagues was enormous.  The experience compelled Dick’s brother, Billy, to take action:  to develop a line of shoes with the sole purpose of funding medical care and research.
dimmi’s mission is to donate 100% of dimmi profits to medical causes – year in, year out.   Each purchase of dimmi shoes adds to the strength of the dimmi community; and together we can help change lives for the better!
dimmi  shoes are perky and light, and designed for the younger – and older – women who are conscious of wellness, comfort and style.  They can be worn to the office, to run errands at the Farmer’s Market, or to meet friends for drinks – coffee, tea, or wine.

One lucky reader will win a pair of

Lookie Lous Review

purposes on this blog. No other compensation, monetary or in kind,
has been received or implied for this post. Nor was I told how to post about them.

Lookie Lous Review

Why didn't I think of that??? How many of us use our glasses as a headband when we aren't using them. I am forever putting my glasses on top of my head. Lookie Lous has combined them. These sporty headbands are actually reading glasses, or should I say these reading glasses are actually headbands. The have a simple yet fun design. I wear them at work and never worry about dropping them. Everyone that has seen them wanted to know where I got them. If you didn't know better, you would never know these are reading glasses.

Lookie Lous come in a variety of colors and even clear. If you don't use reading glasses, they have a 0 strength too! The pink ones are great for computer work as they cancel out the blue tones and helps relieve eye strain.

Here is a little more about Lookie Lous:

lookie lous® are…

  • hard coated for scratch resistance
  • weigh less than one ounce
  • UV rated
  • made of flexible polycarbonate
  • hand made
  • available in magnifications
    0.0, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0
I love my Lookie Lous, but my son loved them too. They make great sunglasses. They are stylish and durable. If you would like to learn more check out their website:
Lookie Lous

The 0 strength will make great presents for anyone, especially those hard to buy for friends and family members.
