The Road Not Taken

      As I sat at home today and received unexpected and wonderful news, I began reflecting over some of my choices that have led me to where I am now. Many times I have come to crossroads.  Some roads have led to pain and learning. Some have led to happiness and learning. The fact is, when at the crossroads, all roads were "less traveled",  because the outcome was unknown to ME.  Each path was chosen by me and each path has formed who I am.

Please enjoy one of my favorite poems and I would love to hear about some of your "roads".

The Road Not Taken

by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

  1. It's a beautiful poem. I'm glad you received welcome news. :)

    I have a lot of roads traveled that were great, some not so much, but highly unlikely I'd change anything at all. Happy weekend to you.

  2. What a great poem by a great poet! It's always hard making decisions on which road to take, sometimes we have to learn by our mistakes but when we take that correct road and we reap the rewards it's wonderful. Welcomed news is always great!
