New Orleans Mint Julep Recipe

New Orleans Mint Julep Recipe

6 Fresh Mint Leaves
1 Tbsp Simple Syrup
2 oz. Bourbon
Crushed Ice
Wooden Spoon
Rocks Glass or a silver cup

Combine the mint and simple syrup in the bottom of the glass. Using the handle end of the spoon,
smash the leaves into the simple syrup . Add the Bourbon, then the top with lots of crushed ice,
stir, trying to keep the mint leaves on the bottom of the glass. Garnish with a sprig of mint and serve.

***Simple Syrup  1/3 cup water and 1/3 cup sugar, cooked just until the sugar disolves. Make a batch and
keep the left over in the fridge.

You need to use crushed ice because it keeps the smashed leaves at the bottom.

Please Do Not Drink and Drive!!!!
