My Funky Camera
Review and Giveaway
Win a Beautiful Valentine's Camera Strap (ARV $32)
If you are looking for a unique Valentine's Day Gift for the Photographer in your life, Check out
I was a very lucky girl this Christmas. My Hubby bought a Nikon D5100 for me. I had been wanting one for years and just knew that my blog would really POP with beautiful new pictures.
With my new found toy, I started searching for the perfect camera strap.
Who would have known that there is a website that has camera straps that match anyone's personality?
My Funky Camera is such a fun site and I believe that I want everything they offer. I was sent a gorgeous Valentine's Day themed camera strap for this review.
Here it is hooked up to my new camera:

My Funky Camera not only makes their camera straps in fun designs, they are also Oh So Comfortable! They are completely lined and soft. Carrying my camera around for hours isn't a chore now.
I hate short camera straps. I like them long like to use it like a sling to move it out of my way when the need arises. My Funky Camera makes them in a variety of lengths to suit anyone.
They even have wristlets if you don't like the neck straps.
Now, for the best part. They are fantastic with responding to your messages if you have something different in mind or if you have any questions. I am so surprised that more people haven't heard of My Funky Camera
You have to see some of the other fun things they offer:

Now for the fun part...
The wonderful people at My Funky Camera are giving away a fun camera strap to one lucky reader.

Kernel Season's Popcorn Seasonings Review
I don't know who the first person was that decided to pop corn, but that person was a genius! I love popcorn. When I was a kid, Jiffy Pop was such a treat on weekends. Since that time, I have become a popcorn fanatic. The oddest popcorn I have ever tried was Watermelon Flavor.
Kernel Season's doesn't have those weird off the wall flavors for popcorn, just the ones that we adore. When I received my basket of goodies from Kernel Seasoning's I thought it was my birthday. I was so excited that I wasn't sure which one I wanted to try first.
After having to make a hard decision, I chose the Garlic Parmesan first. Wow! It has the perfect strong flavor that I was hoping it would. I started wondering what else I could put this on. Needless to say, it didn't take long for me to try it on broccoli. Yummm....

I have to say that my personal favorite was the Kettle Corn. It gave the popcorn just the hint of sweetness without over powering the delicate popcorn flavor. My teenage son loved the Bacon Cheddar. He ate the entire bowl that I made for him. My daughter loved the Caramel the best. I guess since we all have different tastes, I will just have to get the variety pack.
Kernel Season's Popcorn Seasonings come in a variety of wonderful flavors:
White Cheddar, Kettle Corn, Caramel, Bacon Cheddar, Garlic Parmesan, Ranch, Nacho Cheddar, Bacon Cheddar, Butter, Milk Chocolate Caramel, and more.

Kernel Season's has lots of fun things on their site, even gifts:

Popcorn Party Pack Contains:
  • 1 Pound of premium popping corn kernels
  • 3- .9oz Kernel Season's Popcorn Seasonings:
    • White Cheddar
    • Nacho Cheddar
    • Kettle Corn
  • Butter Spritzer to help the seasoning stick (2.5oz can)

I Think, Therefore I BLOG

My blogging addiction started when the semi-empty nest thing happened. My youngest son is now 16 and has a very active social and school life. I have a full time job being a police officer, but I only work 15 days a month. After surrounding my life around work, kids and home, I found myself with a lot of free time that I never had before. It was weird.
My friend has this great blog, Bless Their Hearts Mom. I had been reading her blog for awhile and talked to her about her blogging. Her passion for her blog was amazing. It was like a whole different world. All of the creativity in her life came alive and she shined when she talked about it. I wanted the same thing.

There is a part in all of us that wants to be creative. Blogging is a way for our alter egos to be set free on the world. I'm not Clark Kent. I don't walk around with the letter "B" (for Blogger) on a t-shirt underneath my daily clothes. However, I sometimes feel like it when I'm wearing my uniform at work. I love my job, but blogging is my passion. There is a sense of pride when I produce a great blog post. I want my readers to enjoy it as much as I do. I wonder if writers of novels feel the same way. There is this great sense of accomplishment sometimes that is hard to explain.

Next month makes one year since I started on this journey. As I look back at some of my earlier posts, I see how far I have come as a blogger, photographer wanna-be, and aspiring writer. My biggest accomplishment is that it has now inspired my husband to start blogging. Even he was bit by the Blogging Bug.
Whether you will have 5 readers or 5000, just blog and share your creativity with others.

Comfort is what I want when I look for shoes. I'm not one of those fancy type of women. Heels are not in my vocabulary. I love shoes that fit my active lifestyle.
Okabashi sent a pair of their Copenhagen Clogs (RV $17.99) for me to do a review.
Okabashi's line of shoes are made for comfort. I love the arch support! It helps reduce the strain on my back and legs. I wore the Copenhagen Clogs all day. They are soft and were so comfortable to walk in.

Now this is the fun part...They are washable. You can even put them in a dishwasher! Unlike other plastic shoes, they are odor resistant and slip resistant.

Okabashi makes an entire line of their comfort shoes. Here are just a few of what they offer.
Remember, they come in lots of colors and sizes for men and women.

The Copenhagen Clog that I was lucky enough to review, is on sale right now for $17.99!

My Top 5 Movies of All Time

Every one has their favorites. Hubby and I have very different tastes in movies. I savor the time that I can indulge in my alone movie time. I will watch all those "guy" action movies, and I like some of them, but Jason Statham movies are all the same to me. I love my movies to have substance and of course, a little travel thrown in is always a plus. Years ago when I was single, I went on a date with someone who chose the movie we would see. He chose one of those Alien type movies. Needless to say, that was the first and last date. I don't mind compromise in movie viewing, but somethings I draw the line on. Anywho, here is a list of my all time favorite movies:

Catch and Release

1. Catch and Release- I love Boulder, Co. and I love this movie. The music, the easy story line and throw in a little bit of Kevin Smith and I fell head over heels for it.

2. From the Terrace- Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward were such a striking couple. I can imagine what kind of a stink was thrown when this movie came out. Woodward plays such a hussy in this movie. And the line, "How do you like them apples?" was just too perfect.

3. Hatari- After seeing this movie as a child, I wanted to go to Africa and I wanted my own baby elephant. I dreamed of living on that ranch with all of the animals. Everytime I hear the Elephant March I smile.

4. Eat Pray Love- You had to know this would be on the list. Yes, this is the life I dream of having sometimes. Throwing it all away and just taking off. Don't we all have those moments? I'm not sure if I could ever be that daring or if I just couldn't leave me wonderful family for that long, but it's fun to dream about.

5. Under the Tuscan Sun- This movie came at the perfect time for me. After Hurricane Katrina, I bought an old house and decided to fix it up..I could identify with Diane Lane's character. I was single, bought a house and completely felt like I was in over my head. My favorite line was, "You bought a house for a life you don't even have". Well, that life came to me as it did for her character. Funny how movies speak to your life situations sometimes.
