If you are against guns please stop reading this blog post now.
**************************************************************************

I have posted in the past about what I do for a living. In case you have missed it, I am a police officer. Specifically, I am a Sergeant on Patrol. I am also a woman. Yep, that's me.
I know people differ in their opinions about carrying guns. I am not going to debate the pros and cons of everyone's opinions. I do respect every individual's right to choose. This post is about women and firearms.
I personally believe that women have a need to protect themselves and their families.
Safety is a must!

In the U.S. 500 women each day are the victim of rape or sexual assault.
20 in 1000 Females have been a victim of Stalking.
A 2009 report by the Bureau of Justice Statistics showed that of 652,660 violent crimes analyzed, more than 551,500 had been committed against women.

I hope that got your attention..........

The Well Armed Woman is a great website with lots of information on protecting yourself. They have a large variety of products catered to women. They offer advise, videos, and many great products for all of your protection needs. If you are new to firearms or have always been intimidated by them, The Well Armed Woman carries a variety of videos to help you learn.

If you don't have a firearm and are wondering if you should, check out this page:
Do You Need A Gun

Let's face it, the men in our lives mean well. I am always telling men not to buy certain weapons for their wives. Men have no idea what women feel comfortable with. They know even less about the importance of having to carry a weapon in a purse. Women are sometimes scared to ask questions or sometimes don't know what questions to ask.

The Well Armed Woman is a store and website for us.
Look through the website and you will learn valuable advise on purchasing, safety and more.

Here is a whole section on what kind of a gun to buy a woman:

What Kind of Gun For A Woman

I was lucky enough to work with The Well Armed Woman. I was interested in the Conceal Carry Purses. I wanted all of my readers to see what a great product this is. If you are a woman that understands how aggravating it is to carry a weapon in your purse, you will love this.

This is the perfect purse. There is a universal holster inside the pocket to keep your firearm clear of clutter and easy to reach when you need it.
I was impressed with how well
it is made. It is soft and stylish.

The Well Armed Woman has a big variety of CCW Purses. Here are just a few:

Fun Facts Friday- Ghosts!

GHOSTS

1. One of the most frequently reported ghost sightings in England dates back to the 16th century.
Anne Boleyn, the second wife of King Henry VIII and mother of Queen Elizabeth I, was executed at the Tower of London in May 1536 after being accused of witchcraft, treason, incest and adultery.
Sightings of Boleyn's ghost have been reported at the tower as well as in various other locations, including her childhood home, Hever Castle, in Kent.

2. When a ghost is present, there is usually a cold spot or a shift in the magnetic field.

3. An orb is a ball of light that is considered the essence of a ghost. Orbs are rarely seen in person, but show up
frequently on pictures. It is often hard to distinguish orbs from light reflections and dust particles.

4. Ghosts are sometimes mischevious and always curious.

5. Ghosts have a profound sense of smell! They are often attracted to certain scents.

6. Edinburgh Castle (Scotland)-There have been so many hauntings for so long that Edinburgh Castle
attracted one of the most thorough paranormal investigations ever. Many of the volunteer experiences
were consistent with past sightings at the castle. There were burning sensations, phantom gropes,
shadowy figures and a specter in a leather apron seen in the same spot he was seen by unrelated individuals before the study.

7.  Animals and children are more likely to "see" a ghost.

8. LaLaurie House in New Orleans is one of New Orleans most haunted homes. There are reported incidents of people seeing,
feeling and hearing the ghosts of tormented slaves in the LaLaurie home, and there are even reports of the Madame
herself being seen there.

9. A White Lady (also known as the Mulher de Branco) is a type of female ghost reportedly seen in rural areas

and associated with some local legend of tragedy. White Lady legends are found around the world. Common
to many of them is the theme of losing or being betrayed by a husband or fiancé.

10. Mary’s story is too scary to tell you, just don’t say her real name 3 times while looking into the bathroom mirror
with the lights off. This would summon her presence to get revenge on You!

Seabuck Wonders Review and Giveaway

Disclosure / Disclaimer: I received this product, free of charge, from SeaBuck Wonders for review
purposes on this blog. No other compensation, monetary or in kind, has been received or implied for this post. Nor was I told how to post about them. As with any product, your opinion may differ from mine.

Win a Seabuck Wonders Wonder Pack ARV $99.32!!!!

I had been hearing about Sea Buckthorn for awhile.
I found some great information about it that I wanted to share with you:

Sea buckthorn is an herb. The leaves, flowers, and fruits are used to make medicine.
Sea buckthorn leaves and flowers are used for treating arthritis, gastrointestinal ulcers, gout, and skin rashes caused by infectious diseases such as measles. A tea containing sea buckthorn leaves is used as a source of vitamins, antioxidants, protein building blocks (amino acids), fatty acids and minerals; for improving blood pressure and lowering cholesterol; preventing and controlling blood vessel diseases; and boosting immunity.
Some people apply sea buckthorn berries, berry concentrate, and berry or seed oil directly to the skin for preventing sunburn; for treating radiation damage from x-rays and sunburns; for healing wounds including bedsores, burns, and cuts; for acne, dermatitis, dry skin, eczema, skin ulcers, and skin color changes after giving birth; and for protecting mucus membranes.

I have to admit before trying Seabuck Wonders products, I didn't know all of the wonderful benefits of Sea Buckthorn.
Sea Buckthorn is called the "Super Fruit" for a reason.

I was sent the Wonder Pack from Seabuck Wonders to try.
  • Sea Buckthorn Omega-7 Complete™, 60 Softgels
  • Sea Buckthorn Body Lotion
  • Sea Buckthorn Facial Cream
  • Sea Buckthorn Facial Cleanser
  • Sea Buckthorn Hydrating Serum

I started reading all of the information on the Omega 7 Complete. It is health in a bottle. Here's a little bit about it:
The Sea Buckthorn Omega 7 combines berry oil and seed oil so you get all sea buckthorn can offer. Among essential fattyacids you find Omega 7, 9, 6 and 3. The Sea Buckthorn vitamins, and the contents of vitamins C, E, B1, B6 and β-carotene are high. Combination ratio among the more than 190 bioactive elements coincides with what our body needs. This Omega 7 oil blend provides a very wide spectrum of support for good health.
This is good for your heart, liver, immune system and more. One pill once a day and think of all the benefits.

After two weeks of using the Facial Cleanser, Hydrating Serum and Facial Cream, my skin felt softer and not dry. I've had such a tough time with dry skin. They Hydrating Serum was wonderful. I have to say that my favorite product was the Sea Buckthorn Facial Cleanser. I used it every day for two weeks. My skin felt so clean and refreshed. I can only speak for myself but my skin felt tighter and looked better.

The Facial Cream and Body Lotions were great for everyday use. I brought the Body Lotion to a friend's house and let everyone there try it. They loved the light scent and non-greasy feel.
This was a great pack and I am so thankful to Seabuck Wonders for giving me a chance to experience Sea Buckthorn for myself.

Now, Thanks to SeaBuck Wonders One of my lucky Readers will win a Wonder Pack!

Fun Facts Friday-Halloween

1. According to Irish legend, Jack O’Lanterns are named after a stingy man named Jack who,
because he tricked the devil several times, was forbidden entrance into both heaven and hell.
He was condemned to wander the Earth, waving his lantern to lead people away from their paths.

2. Halloween has variously been called All Hallows’ Eve, Witches Night, Lamswool, Snap-Apple Night, Samhaim, and Summer’s End.

3. Scottish girls believed they could see images of their future husband if they hung wet sheets in front of the fire on Halloween. Other girls believed they would see their boyfriend’s faces if they looked into mirrors while walking downstairs at midnight on Halloween.

4. According to tradition, if a person wears his or her clothes inside out and then walks backwards on Halloween,
he or she will see a witch at midnight.

5. During the pre-Halloween celebration of Samhain, bonfires were lit to ensure the sun would return after the long, hard winter.
Often Druid priests would throw the bones of cattle into the flames and, hence, bone fire became bonfire.

6. The owl is a popular Halloween image. In Medieval Europe, owls were thought to be witches, and to hear an owl's call meant someone was about to die.

7. Children are more than twice as likely to be killed in a pedestrian/car accident on Halloween than on any other night.

8. These are real towns: Frankenstein, Mo.; Scary, W.Va.; Spook City, Colo.; and Candy Town, Ohio.

9. More than 35 million pounds of candy corn are produced each year.

10. Traditionally, a Halloween Cake was baked with a thimble inside. Whoever got the thimble in their slice was to be unfortunate in love for the next year.
